December Reading Wrap Up // 2017

Happy New Year!!

It is now 2018, which is crazy to me!! Another year is been and gone so quickly and now we are in a new year.

For my first post of 2018 I am going to talk about the books that I read in the last month of 2017! I am actually pretty proud of my last reading month!😊

In December I read four books and I DNFed three books.

Girl Made of Stars by Ashley Herring Blake

I got a EArc from NetGalley and I am so happy I did because I ended up really enjoying this. I loved How To Make A Wish by the same author and I will definitely be reading more of her work.

I love Ashley’s writing style!! I enjoyed the characters. The plot was interesting. Also the main character is Bisexual!!

If you want to read this book, it does deal with Rape so if you feel uncomfortable reading about that then this probably isn’t the book for you.

I think this book dealt with it really well!!

Touch of Power by Maria V. Snyder

I have saw so many people talk about the Study series by Maria V. Synder but I haven’t heard anyone talk about this series.

I recognised the authors name but not the title of the book. This made me intrigued so I picked it up at the Library and I am so happy I did. I ended up really enjoying it and I will definitely try and get the second book when I go back to the library.

I really enjoyed the writing style! The story was interesting and I was captivated from the very beginning. The characters were so good!

Caraval by Stephanie Garber

Another book I picked up at the Library. I heard mixed reviews about this book but again I was intrigued so I picked it up. This time it wasn’t a good thing that I did.

I honestly don’t know how I feel about this book. Some things I sort of liked but most things I didn’t. The characters were annoying. It felt like the author was trying to hard for pretty writing.

Cloaked in Shadow by Ben Alderson

This was actually my very first read of December and I am so happy I read it.

I really enjoyed Ben’s writing style! The characters were done so well! Again I was captivated from the very beginning. It was fast paced. Also a m/m romance.

It was because of this book, I started to enjoy Fantasy again!

I also DNFed a few books which I am only going to list down below!

  • Red Rising by Pierce Brown
  • Dating the IT Guy by Krysten Lindsay Hager
  • Mr Splitfoot by Samantha Hunt

What did you read last month? Any favourites?
