Hello! Last week I talked about some of my favourite reads of 2017 so it just made sense for me to talk about my least favourite books this week.
None of these books on this list are terrible! You can still enjoy these books! I just felt really disappointed with all of these as I was really excited to read of all them.
Red Rising by Pierce Brown
Everyone seems to be obsessed with this series! And I mean everyone!! I have hardly saw anyone talk bad about this series.
I was genuinely so excited to finally read this book and unfortunately I ended up DNFing it.
I really did not like the writing style! I just could not get into it. The pacing was so slow and I disliked the main character.
Blood Rose by Danielle Rose
I received an arc of this book from Oftomes Publishing and again I was so excited for this.
I love Oftomes books and I also love NA books so it seemed like a perfect match. But it wasn’t!
The main thing that I didn’t like was the characters! They were really annoying! I found myself rolling my eyes whenever they said something stupid and that was a lot.
Noah’s Song by Jaclyn Osborn
When I found this book on Kindle Unlimited, I was really excited because there is a m/m romance in this.
That was the only part I liked.
I wasn’t a fan of the rest. Honestly I can’t even remember anything about this. I remember nothing.
I do remember not liking the writing style.
Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige
Another beloved book in the book community which I was excited for.
Unfortunately I didn’t like it.
I was bored throughout the full book. Nothing about this drew me in. The writing was not that good. The characters were not good.
The Year I Met You by Cecelia Ahern
I love Cecelia Ahern’s YA books so I was really excited to branch out into her Adult books.
I ended up DNFing this and that was because nothing happened! I was at least 100 pages in and nothing had happened. The only thing that happened was that the main character kept wathing her neighbour through her window!
Uprooted by Naomi Novak
Another book everyone seems to love but again I DNFed this one.
The main reason being I didn’t like the writing. The writing was so hard to read. It was so small and so detailed! Also I didn’t like the main character.
A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas
This was probably my most anticipated read of 2017 so I was really really sad when I decided to DNF this.
I tried for nearly two months to try and complete this but I got around 200 pages and I was bored! I felt like nothing happened even though a few things did.
Before reading this I heard a lot of problematic things that happened in it and I think that played a huge part in me not enjoying it! I DNFed before I reached those parts of the book so I can’t really comment on those aspects of it.
So those are my least favourite books of 2017! What were the books you didn’t like in 2017? Anyt thoughts on the books I mentioned?
